About

“What inspires you? If you were asked to share your life story to someone, right at this moment, what would your tale be?”

I am passionate about narrative, storytelling, learning, design, and technology. Combining these interests, I work as a digital media and educational content producer.   Through my work, I demonstrate my skills to administer, manage, and support the design, development, and publication of a variety of projects ranging from interactive learning environments, educational websites, and internal and external on-line communication.  This has ranged from copy-writing for health educational websites and administering the CMS for an educational video portal, to designing portfolio sites for creative professionals.

During my graduate studies in the Instructional Technology and Media program at Columbia University’s Teachers College, I further explored my interests in storytelling and narrative-driven media, discovered the possibilities of games for learning, and studied the worlds of interactive learning environments, adult education, and mobile technology.

Besides navigating the worlds of digital media and health education, I am an active learner and welcome a good adventure, especially one that involves learning something new or something different. This enthusiasm and curiosity has led me to learning about narrative in different mediums with a foray into filmmaking classes (and making a still unfinished food documentary – the best part was the all the food sampling, aka, research) to developing my linguistic skills in Spanish and Mandarin Chinese.

I daydream a lot. I think a lot. I imagine a lot. And, I have a long bucket list.

Along with tackling the items of my bucket list, I can be found doing a number of different things:
- Building portfolio websites (I’m available for freelance projects)
- Doing volunteer work and supporting projects that address social, health, and education issues.
- Combating wanderlust and planning for my next adventures, which I hope to not only to benefit myself, but others as well
- Wielding the mighty pen (or tapping on the keyboard) of a wordsmith
- And, figuring out ways that I can actively engage in my community. Perhaps it’s a bit naïve of me and I may be guilty of romanticizing the notion of change, but I sincerely believe that it is possible to affect positive change in the world.

A swirl of meaning:
